    Our Testimonials

"I would highly recommend this program to parents, teachers or anyone who is passionate about remediating those who learn differently."

    Teacher

"Since completing the certification, I have been able to help remediate other children who have been diagnosed with Dyslexia. It is comforting to know that this program doesn’t end when I finish the course. I am able to continue a relationship with the OGOA and as Marisa Bernard (Executive Director of the OGOA) has told me “Please know you have a friend in us for life and if ever we can be of support to you, we want to avail ourselves."

    Teacher

"The experience has given me a greater understanding of how children with Dyslexia learn.  The Practicum Extension gave me a hands on experience where I was able to put into practice the knowledge I had gained in the Basic Language Course.  The Practicum Extension course came with a knowledgeable supervisor who gave me step by step feedback."

    Teacher

"While the knowledge I gained in the Basic Language course was extremely beneficial, it wasn’t until I was able to implement this approach under the supervision of a trained Orton Gillingham supervisor that I truly felt confident in helping to remediate those with Dyslexia."

    Teacher

"It is with pleasure and gratitude that I share my experience with the OGOA in the understanding of how to effectively teach children with Dyslexia. While I have read numerous books on Dyslexia to try and help my own two children who have been diagnosed with this, I did not truly understand the implementation of this multisensory approach until I participated in the Practicum Extension."

    Parent

"The innovative ideas, positive feedback, along with suggestions for improvement are helping me become a better teacher and providing top notch instruction that these children so desperately deserve. I feel now, that I really know how to teach children read and spell. Thank you so much!"

    Reading Teacher from Dubai

"I love this course! Truly, every part was helpful. I especially liked the scope and sequence, being able to rewatch videos multiple times, and the pre-made lessons and teaching slides. It was very well done, and I will be recommending it to others."

    Teacher

"I have learned more about effective reading instruction from this course than I did over the entirety of earning my B.S. in SPED or my M.A. to become a reading specialist. I would recommend this course to others!"

    Special Education Teacher

"I found the coursework very helpful! I am very excited to begin OG instruction with my students this year!! The demonstration videos were extremely helpful to me to see how a lesson would work. I will definitely recommend OGOA to others."

    Teacher

"The courses are very helpful! Learning to read is hard work. OG uses a systematic approach to teaching skills rather than assuming that the kids "just know" anything. We can't expect them to know if we don't teach them. The videos showing how to do the drills were very helpful. I esp liked the ones with real kids. I also really liked the opportunity to see a whole lesson right up front; it helped me know where were were going. Also, the very prompt responses to my questions in the course forum were much appreciated."
